They did our sim last night (1:00AM EDT).
Since then I have crashed 3 times (in 1 hour today), and my friend crashed 4 times last night right after the update.
I hardly ever crashed before. So much for improved stability.

But the sim stays solid as a rock, unaffected by the users crashing all around it! That's stability!
![]() Seriously though, if you are certain there are no other factors at work, then I would remove any and all scripted attachments. Something is probably conflicting with something else in a way that is making you crash. Maybe two flight-assists (Mysti + Flight Feather for instance) or a movelock or something along those lines. Take them all off, HUDs and everything, and see if that helps. If it does, then put things on one at a time - like one attachment, give it an hour or two, then a second attachment, etc, until you start crashing again. Process of elimination should let you know what the culprit is. -Atashi _____________________

And that's just every-day stuff... sometimes more o.o Take 5 days to test it all >.< _____________________

Well, you could start with stuff that was more suspicious than others... since the change was a physics one, I'd be more worried about attachments and HUDs that interacted with physics. Neko-bits should not have anything physical at all about them - flexi certainly, but the tail twitches and ears emoting are nonphysical.
The reason I mentioned flight assists as an example was because they do interact with physics. I don't know anything about shields and weapon huds but they'd be another good candidate to inspect - even speedboost shoes; anything that can speed up, slow down, lift up, or move your avatar around. All those would be things to scrutinize. Other suggestion: contact the creators of the attachments / HUDs and ask if they know of any havoc4 related problems. -Atashi _____________________

If they both crashed frequently, perhaps it is an item both the OP and her friend both use.

I only keep one HUD on Zhao II (girls). Prim/flexi hair, shoes, and skirt. Thats it. As for my friend's HUDS, I don't know what she was using. For the most part, we have nothing the same. She had all her crashes alone. I had one alone, and the others with her there.
The first time it crashed I sat in a chair, then stood up, upon standing, I was transported about 100m away and 25m up. I couldn't move from there. TP failure as well. I quit and logged back in. Later, Local chat had problems (I stopped sending), but could still see her messages coming to me. I swtched to IM, it still worked, but that failed shortly there after. I'll try the old "Clear cache and reboot" and your other suggestions. |

Your problem has absolutely nothing to do with Havoc 4. Client-side crashes cannot be caused by physics.
I've seen this same thing happen before with voice. Back when voice came out, I saw it blamed for lags of all kinds, server crashes, and even asset loss. Correlation is not causation. |

I couldn't move from there. TP failure as well. I quit and logged back in. This happens to me every once in a while, as well as the 10,10,10 location bug when sitting on sit-position scripted objects. It's due to lag usually for me personally. Later, Local chat had problems (I stopped sending), but could still see her messages coming to me. I swtched to IM, it still worked, but that failed shortly there after. This is more likely due to the various asset server issues we've been having off and on for the past forever. (Though more common lately) Neither issue has anything at all to do with physics, and so it would seem that it also has nothing to do with Havok 4, though I've no idea if they, for some stupid reason, changed anything beyond physics. _____________________

All that you both said may be true, but I have only crashed once in over a month (using the latest RC version), and then to crash 3 times in quick succession? I don't know what, but something changed.
Maybe just bad karma... Thats it. I need pie! |

The SIM I'm in has crashed twice just recently. (or at least thats the indication its giving me when it logs me out)
I also notice things I have modify rights for won't let me modify them, selecting edit linked parts does just the opposite (even allowing for lag), and some objects I recently modified the size of in the last day have reverted back to original and now won't let me re-size them again. It seems the teleport bugs are all still there too. I get to where I'm going only about 5% of the time or less.... I'm guessing this is all bugs... its getting really really old. Summer is coming, perhaps its time to store SL on the shelf until fall - by then I'm sure it will just be a whole other new set of bugs. |

I think it's a testament to just how much time and effort went into Havok 4 that the forums are *not* full of "omg everything broke and H4 sucks" threads. Kudos to Sidewinder Linden and his team, they have pulled off what is a substantial change to the grid architecture, with incredibly minimal damage. Yes, there are some issues remaining. But if the efforts put into the last 9 months of the project are any indication, they will be resolved in short order.

With all the instability LL is having its pretty tough to get a good experience from anything and hard to know what to blame on H4. Besides the typical teleport and transaction things that aren't H4 related, I've noticed 3 rather annoying problems already and I'm not even trying. I notice now that I can no longer maintain stable hover. I slowly sink right into the ground in some SIMs. I just got a Mystitool upgrade and that doesn't seem to have addressed it. |

I have heard a lot of people comment on that. If that's the worst of it, I think the grid will survive ![]() _____________________

The sim where I live was upgraded last night too - I was actually sat in my house when I got the message to vacate. 5 mins later and it was up again. All seems well so far. The only thing I have noticed as different so far is that when you are stood on an object and that object is removed - you no longer stay in mid air until you move - you fall immediately. Yay!!! much more realistic.

You'll find there's alot of things that Havok 4 wont deliver on as promised. I'm a regular at using Havok 5 after using Havok 4. When people said 'orbiting will be a thing of the past' it was almost complete BS. Havok 4 will stop orbiting yes, but it wont stop orbiting PERMANENTLY - updating scripts ect will re-enable it and i have a few things that still orbit anyway, so I'm not fussed.
Stability? Yeah sim's solid as a rock now, but also way more laggy (even in an empty sim) depending on what's there. my FPS has been at 35 all day (again in an empty sim). BUT the sim's aint crashed. YET. |

Update, I was on for about 3 hours last night without a hitch. The club I was in was VERY crowded, laggy, but no crash. YAY!
