I used to be a regular at a wonderful 1940's Vintage Club that held "Latin Night" every Sunday. The playlist was wonderful, considering my love of tangos. The playlist included: *Assassin's Tango (from "Mr. & Mrs. Smith) *Tango de Roxanne (from "Moulin Rouge) *Por Una Cabeza (Featured in "Scent of a Woman" *I Need to Know, by Marc Anthony *Hernando's Hideaway *La Carcacha (Selene) And other similar songs. Since then the only places I hear any of these, including so-called Latin venues, is if I go to a club I know the DJ and request one. I would be soooo grateful if anyone knows of a club that plays any of these songs regularly...or even once a week....or month.

Sorry Czari ... I wish I knew one. But if you start one at your home, may I come dance with you sometime?

Me, at Drawin Blanks... at our soon to be Latin Night, or will be when i poke the boss Also Czari, if The Funky Feats Dance Troop is still around, join them, they do a LOT of Salsa venues where you can hear those songs as well.

There's, uh, probably a lot of things you didn't know about lindens. Another, another interesting, uh, lindenism, uh, there are only three jobs available to a linden. The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

Hiya Maggie! I knew you'd know what I was talking about . Ummm...I'm assuming Drawin Blanks is the name of a club? Will keep my eyes open for that! I soooo miss dancing the tangos.

The op has it right. This type music is considered latin and not salsa as many people in sl believe. So many times I have seen 'Salsa' events announced only to find this type music playing. Some believe because it's spanish it must be salsa and it's nothing like that at all.

See what I mean? These songs aren't salsa, very far from it.

I have no clue if this will play those songs or not, but the club had nothing but Tango balls inside, so you might want to check it out: Un Beso La Vida, Fantasie Island (242, 205, 24)
