I have an avatar that's pretty ancient that I havent logged into in over 3 yrs. I do not think the email address i had linked to it is active any longer. Anyone know if it's possible to reactivate an avatar after this long of time? I made an attempt, and got to a screen that said an email has been sent but i dont think the email address linked to this account is active, and i cant remember exactly what it was for that matter to recreate it or reactivate it.

From what I understand, a while back, the Lindens went through the roles and weeded out a bunch of inactive accounts that had dead email addresses.

YMMV but I wouldn't count on it being there.

If it was a Basic account, and not Premium, then you can submit a help desk ticket for the category "Can not access account", explain the situation, and LL may be able to help you reset the password and e-mail to something usable.

If it was a Premium account and the dues on it have lapsed for that long, the account will have been first suspended for non-payment of dues, then deleted.

see if you can get to the accounts page and then see if you can change the information from there or at least see what email it was..
that is if you were not a premium account back then..
you will either need to remember the email address or the password i'm sure ..if the account is not logged into the site..

I had 2 accounts that were inactive for nearly 4 years and the emails were long dead.

I filed a support ticket. They asked me my "security question" and what the original email addresses were and what the original password was and when i answered they restored both accounts.

Same happened to me but I wasn't even able to remember the answers to the security questions, so I couldn't get it back.

I had a non-premium account that was "purged" when they did that a while back, and my support ticket was answered that the account was not recoverable... it was a cool name too :( I had another account from the same period which was similarly disused but not deleted. I think it is because I had never actually logged in (in-world) to the account that was purged, though I had activated it via email.

My guess is that if it was purged for non-use you are out of luck, but if you had used the account they can probably recover it for you.

I don't remember hearing about that, though they did go through and shoot many accounts that had registered but never logged in or, maybe, only logged in once. 'Course, me not hearing about something doesn't mean it didn't happen.
