How To Mute a Sound?

I visit a wonderful club that has just been re-designed - and love it.

Only one thing is a problem there ... the wave sounds! The waves are fantastic looking, but they come over so loud. I have tried muting the rocks, but the sound doesn't come from there.

I think I have found the source, a little distance away from the rocks, under the dance floor, though can't see anything. I just moved the camera around and found the point where the sound is loudest so I think I have pin-pointed it. Tried clicking to mute it, but to no avail - I can't seem to click anything there, so it must be a phantom thing?...I don't know.

I have also tried messing with the sliders in the sound section in my Preferences, as advised by the club owner, and nothing seems to work.

I like sea sounds a lot, but this one comes over like a fighter plane, and I can't hear anyone properly, whilst chatting in Voice as they are all drowned out somewhat. My partner said it was loud for him, but not unbearable if he zooms the camera further away.

How can I find the sound emitter and turn it down? Or if it can't be turned down, How do I mute it?

Thanks in advance.

Use "view beacons" and turn on the sound beacon.

Wow...that's one of the Menu options I'd never tried, and I can see how useful it will be! (huzzah for Resident Answers! and for people who know stuff and are willing to post it, of course.)

Bottom right of screen, near where your music button is, there's a little white upwards arrow. Click that and it will expand into a menu. Slide the 'Sounds" and "Ambient" sliders to the left. You can also adjust various other volumes there.

Ok - found the beacon (thanks Argent).... by Control+N... then went to beacons and checked the Sound Sources. No change.... then took the Ambient down to zero, and no change - still sound. Even tried a re-log like that - no change.

Tried the ambient on it's own - no luck either.

Anything else I can try ?

Ahh! Got it!!! :D

I had to right click and edit the whole rocks and surf area, then close in on the sound beacon, with the camera angle, and then click and edit on the previously invisible (now highlighted red by the Control N feature) ball, and then More, and Mute. Job done - Control N again to hide the red highlights. Excellent!

I typed up what I did in case anyone uses search for the same problem.

Thanks for your help everyone!!!! :D
