My friends inworld can see my avatar ,but I signed out. When I attempt to sign in to SL I get a 'Failed Loggin' notice and that my account won't be able to sign in for a few minutes,but, when I attempt to sign in at that time I get the notice again. My avy is stuck inworld. Weird.
Has this happened to anyone here? Was there a solution?

 Your avatar has been ghosted. It used to be this could be cleared by sending your avatar an IM from the same sim, or paying it $L1, lalala. Nowadays, there are only two things that help:1. Wait. Sometimes SL will clear the condition after a few minutes, or hours. Literally. 2. Get the sim restarted. IM the sim owner and explain that your avatar is stuck halfway through logging out, and ask them to please have the sim restarted. Remember, it is NOT their fault; it is a bug. |

it might be caused by something you are wearing. I once got stuck right outside my neighbour's bedroom window for nearly a week, and she wasn't best pleased. Support had me remove all my attachments, then log in and out adding them back one at a time. Turned out to be a belly ring I had just bought!

It's not absolutely necessary to have the sim restarted, BTW. I was ghosted about a month ago, and my estate owners got a Linden there who was able to "kill" me. I was logged in with an alt, and I could still see my av even after the Linden did her magic, but I was successfully able to log in and all was well.
