Weathermakers?

Can anyone recommend a good weathermaker to me, please? A general all-rounder would be useful, but I'm specifically looking for one that will give a light snowfall (not a blizzard!) and isn't too lagtastic. It doesn't need to have large coverage; I plan to use it mainly for a relatively small (20x20) sky platform area.

Thanks :)

If you are *very* careful placing your generators, you can make the snow fall above the house, and then "evaporate" a short distance above the roof. Additional generators in a ring around the house can make the rain/snow reach the ground. I did this for my castle once, and was quite pleased with the results,

Ludvaig Lindman makes a very nice one. I use this and love it. It has snow, rain, clouds, fog. It's copy, so you can place it anywhere you need it to be.

I saw one in Luskwood a while ago - looked a nice, straightforward one to set up.

Thanks, everyone, for your recommendations here, and to those that have sent LMs and been helpful inworld. I have a lot of rain and snow to look at over the next week or two :)

Bumping for more questions
11-14-2008 15:19
Hey, sorry to bump an old post but was looking at weather systems & recalled seeing this post previously & have a couple of questions....

Ceera you mentioned placing multiple generators.. is that using the Damani system?

I cant tell from the Damani web page if it is copyable or not? Sorry I might be being blonde here (it has been known) but could I use one in my small xmas skybox & another on my OS (diff sim) or would that require 2 systems?

Also any further suggestions? Came across the MG Automagic Weather System which looks great too, anybody have any experience with this one (if I'm allowed to ask that!)

Thanks :)

Yes. I haven't used mine in quite a while, but it is copyable.

FYI - I had version 1.27, and when I rezzed it to check, I got a free update to 1.31.

Klyks Klees (I think that's how he spells his name) from the "Advice for Sales" thread has some really nice emitters. I'm pretty sure he has one with rain with different settings. Not sure about snow.

As an immersive, I have to ask - do they make the sound of rain falling on the roof?

Thanks for that suggestion Czari, I've been to Klyks' store before, and I loved all his things, will go back & check for snow.
