tried to set up a freeview today , deeded the screen to the group (as its group owned land) left the remote not deeded (it said not too) and nothing..have to admit i havent set up a freeview for agesss...but have done so with little problems in the past. Have some @home sets working fine too...did sometihng change , or is my gear out of date, an upgrade maybe?

I never used the remote on the group owned. For some reason, it works just fine without it. (Just use a kid to change the channels!)
Definitely check the Media tab and see if the texture has changed. _____________________

hmm ive never had to alter the media tab before.when doing freeview it just sorta worked!..simpleton question comingggg right up lol

Have you gone through all the channels? You may have just tried a few that no longer stream.
You can check if the TV is changing the channel by comaring the before and after URLs in the Land box. _____________________

i dont get THAT far lol. As soon as i deed the screen to group (the group the land is on) it just does nothing, no menu...no dialogue..nada
 tried not deeding it..and it just tells me that its not owned by the parcel owner...tried a few other permutations..no dice...its weird..why it no longer seems i can set these up now _____________________

I got no clue I just do what my boyfriend tells me to do one of slcn televisions required the owner of the land to deed it to the group.
Maybe that is the case? If you can't still figure it out here let me know maybe I can asked Lando if he knows. He just bought this television that is pretty nice that shows movies,etc suppose to do a whole lot of things but I don't know if the patience or energy to figure out all the programs. It does utube videos for free or any certain type of video url up to 1000 programs. _____________________

Then click the remote and select ( I think "Configure" ) The TV alters the land media tab for you. At the borin' place right now so can't check,Laters maybe if I remember  |

ok to clarify my original post.
The freeview screen says it needs to be deeded to the group that owns theland-done. the remote says it does not have to be deeded (infact it has that in capitals on the item ) but yes set to the group that owns the land. Then, i touch the tv, configure, set remote... and zilch...followed exactly what it said and it does not work. boo Yes i have other televisions on the resort, the @home ones costing 999L a piece etc..and i set them up no probs a year ago- all fine and dandy, still ok now. Its JUST the freeview that doesnt seem to like something..and that something..i cant work out Its REALLLLY annoying me now...so much so i cant stop fiddling with it...know how that is? lolthanks for all your suggestions thus far _____________________

This never used to happen, but now it often does (and of course it doesn't reliably do it -- only some of the time). After I subdivide a parcel, the dropdown menu in the media tab changes to *blank* instead of "movie." Changing it back to "movie" fixes this annoying problem in most of my cases. Thales, I agree with your procedure except: I believe you choose "configure remote" from the TV, not from the remote. Try that, Faithless! --Avion |
