I am pretty sure the viewer is open source now, so you should be able to find it. You could search the Knowledge Base, the Wiki, or just good old Google.
Also, someone that plays around with that stuff will probably come along soon and give more info. _____________________

There is an open source viewer called RealXtend that you can use to log in to Second Life, but there's not really any point other than to see a different logging in screen!

I am actually a Software Developer and wanted to get a client and user interface system for my project. Does Second Life open source allow people to edit and use their interface for their project.

Yes, in fact you may want to hunt down optional viewers. Nicholaz is a popular one. There have been a few rebuilds of the original code. there was a cellphone sized one somewhere, I think the Lindens bought the rights to that one. Perhaps if you make a better client they may liscence it back from you.

MS Visual Studio 2003 or 2005 (or express editions) will compile the C++ code.
You might want to look at libsecondlife if you know C# / .net and are planning to develop your own application. -whyroc _____________________
