Beta is a much more respectable and correct term for the development of software. The only thing I can up with is that the folks involved with SL marketing think Beta sounds bad....I dunno...weird. http://secure-web8.secondlife.com/community/downloads-optional.php- Infrared

I don't know I wish I could just go to the "test" grid to test the things I want like my textures. LOL

Replying to myself...I see there is also a Beta software line...
Confusing...but what the hello...guaranteed confusion is why I went Premium!

From: Infrared Wind Beta is a much more respectable and correct term for the development of software. Simple. Beta connects to the Beta Grid (when it's actually up). Test connects to the Live Grid. =^.^=

Beta refers specifically to one particular type of testing. It's actually shorthand, because the correct term is "beta testing" or "beta test". Calling something a beta tesst doesn't make it a good test, nor does it imply the software process is a good process (or a bad one). It's also somewhat dated in these days of continuous deployment. I see nothing wrong in calling it test software, so long as they're clear on what that means.
