Hi all.
I'm having no success adding a picture to a reply on the forum.
I searched for info...and found the following...
To attach a file to a new post, simply click the [Browse] button at the bottom of the post composition page, and locate the file that you want to attach from your local hard drive.
Only certain types of files may be attached: these are the valid file extensions for files to be attached to this forum: doc gif jpe jpeg jpg pdf png psd txt xls zip.
However I want to add a picture to a reply to a post...not a new post.
Noticed that at the bottom of my reply window it shows "HTML is off".
Could this be the problem?..even though several replys before me have pictures posted .
And I find "post icons" below my reply window..but not a "browse button".
Any help will be appreciated as I have never tried to add a picture before.

The image you want to embed in your post has to be hosted somewhere on the Internet. It can be on your own web server, or on places like Photobucket - but it has to be hosted on the Internet.
Once that is done, simply grab the URL for the image, then post it, surrounded by IMG tags. The result should look like this (but without the added spaces): [ IMG ]http ://site.hosting.image.com/imagename.jpg [ /IMG ] _____________________

Thanks so much for the prompt replies.
This answers my second question...I was hoping that I could add a picture from my hard drive. But I see now that only web hosted pictures are allowed. Over three years on SL...but new to posting on the forums. Many thanks for your helpful replies. _____________________

 Just for the heck of it I uploaded a file to the wiki and put the url in IMG tags. I wonder if that's considered ok. _____________________

Extra hint. If the image url ends with a question mark delete the last part that usually says something like v=0?.
