Can I IM a resident from the website?

Hi. New here and wondering about a small thing: Sometimes I am at work and cannot have the viewer of second life on the computer to get word to a resident in sl.

Is it possible to contact a member of sl without logging in to use the IM or chat? I do not have an email address for them, so I am thinking there may be a way from the website somewhere.

You might want to try Ajaxlife.net. It's a text-based web version of SL, and it would allow you to send IMs to people inworld. If they are not inworld and they've got their IMs set to be sent to email when they are offline, your IM will get to them...usually.

You can't have a regular chat with them, and you can't use the Secondlife website at all, but there are a few third party sites that will let you get messages to people. I think you actually might be able to chat if you use SLeek. There's a website I used that is good for getting messages to people who are inworld...of course, the second I started typing I went blank on the name. Someone help!!

Also zonkster.com allows you to send an IM to someone inworld...provided you've been inworld first and gotten your "code" from zonkster's sim location...

You can use www.zonskter.com - Its a web based one way messaging system. No liteweight client needed nor do you have to give up your password. Works about 80% of the time from what I have seen (not knowing if people are in busy mode, offline etc)

Concussions!! Geez, I hope not recently. It's that new bike, I tell you.

lol - the new bike hasn't dumped me on the ground yet, and I don't even sit on it without a helmet. On the other hand, I've completely ignored my promise not to ride it on the highway, and I've taken several long and WONDERFUL road trips. I spent several hours this weekend snaking along the Satsop River up into the mountains where I had a picnic in the Olympis National Forest, before heading back on every little back road I could find. It was a hot, muggy day at home, but in the woods, it was wonderful.

The concussions are the product of a reckless and misspent youth. I wasn't always as careful with my safety as I am now.

Actually Zonkster has been changed so anyone can use it now without having a "persona" code to send an IM into SL. But it is sends a message with a subtle (?) after the senders name to indicate their identity is unconfirmed. It looks like this.
