I want to create a residential group that is by invitation only. However, I want the members to be able to invite guests to the group so they can get on property. However, I don't want their invitees to have the same roles or title as the residents. (Also, will make it easier for me to see who is a guest and who is a resident.)

So I invite a new resident to the Resident's group, which also, by default, places them in the everyone group. Can I set the Residents role to allow them to invite members to a guest title only? Can I make it that the guest cannot invite more guests? (If a resident invites someone now, it will default to everyone and allow the guest to invite more people to the group. Aieee!)

I see a box in the roles list about assigner's roles, but haven't figured what the heck that means.

As always, signed me confused in SL,
Isabelle

if your "everyone" field allows invite, they can all invite.

Create an "everyone" group member type called "guest" and give them no or minimal powers.

Create a second group called "residents" with rez, invite powers but NOT "assign roles"

Give that role to the people who live there. They can invite people, who will default to "guest" role.

Done.

Make "everyone" your guest group and strip out the power to invite others.

Make a new role for your tenants and ensure that they have the power to invite others.

Tenants can then invite people into the group without having to worry about assigning people to a role.

Thank you so much! It was a little tricky to de-power everyone, but I got it working great. Thank you again.
