In conjunction with what I just posted about live music and my brother.... I forgot to ask this.

When my brother called me, the first thing he wanted me to do was make an avitar that looked like him and start promoting him in SL. LOL I exlained as best I could, while driving, with a train passing on the opposite side of the highway... that he really needs to get in-world himself and check things out and I would do some footwork for him too and check into live music venues and so on.....

But...how does the whole alt account thing work? When you hold one account....and you create an alt.... is that character automatically connected with your primary account....anotherwords can your alt buy L's the way your primary can? I'm just clueless.....and because my brother asked me to go in SL and be 'him' and promote him LOL I figured I'd check into it. Honestly, I would rather he just get his own ass in SL ASAP But he's my big brother....and for him I would do anything especially if it's going to help his music.

Hi Milla,

Not an expert on alts, but AFAIK it's just the same as creating a new account. Plus, the way you put it you make it sound like you'd be creating the account and then handing the log in info over to your brother, which is kinda not allowed ;)

To be honest, I'd say you're right about your brother getting his own account sorted out.

Unless you're going to be his manager, it would make more sense for him to promote himself anyway.

Plus venue owners and the like will want to hear his music before they book him, unless he plays an open mic of course (even then I suspect many of the bigger venue owners will want to hear him first actually).

Good luck
:)

An alt is just a new account that hapens to be run by the same person. Legally, your brother should get his own account, in his name, and should not have you create one for him. You're never supposed to share account login details, or to pass accounts around to each other.

Sorry, LL won't let me tell you where I sell my textures and where I offer my services as a sim builder. Ask me in-world.

Ok...yeah...I know the lagalities...he simply wanted ME to create an avitar that looks like him...which I can do....and just give him the shape when he arrives and take him shopping and so forth.

So, really there is no need for ME to create an alt as I didn't have any intention of passing any account info on to him....only helping to promote him. I will simply help him get his look squared away. LOL (he knows I'm good at that, but he has fun making female players for his pc golf game lol) He's also aware he will have to be heard first....so it's all a matter of him getting himself set up to play live on line. weee this is just too cool~!!!!

I'll keep you guys posted....seriously....you gotta hear him! hehe

Definately no need to create another account for that. just save your current features in a folder and get to work on a new shape that you can give him when he logs in the first time. try on hair and skin demos and take him shopping when its time.

What Alice said. You can make a new male shape and work on it for him yourself. When he gets around to creating an account, just send it to him. It's against the TOS to share accounts and passwords. And try not to drive and talk on the phone at the same time! :p
