I was wondering if a game pad for PC will work in SL. It would make things a lot easier than using the keyboard and mouse. I don't have one yet to try it , but I am going to get one to use with another PC game.

I dont see why it shouldnt? You might have to assign keys to the controller functions.
I know the XBox360 controllers work with Windows, so there's always that.

A game pad will work just fine for things like moving the avatar around the world, but for things like alt-zoom camera controls, building, navigating text input fields, etc., there really can be no substitute for a plain old mouse and keyboard.
