Lucid dreaming & SL

Inspired by the what are your RL/sL hobbies thread.. One of my favorite parts about SL last year when I started, was the flying dreams I began having. I left for a while and came back this week, and they've already started. I took this pic in world yesterday near a shop I'm building. http://f1nd.org/romano/dvn.jpg

Last night I had a dream on a building top. It has begun. But dangit I don't have the time to play like I used to!

Anyone else get crazy dreams from SL?

I have flying dreams. And I dream in "SL mode" meaning everything looks like SL avatars and builds, not like RL stuff. Too much time on the computer, I guess!

has had dreams where i'm dancing. has also had the flying dream, and has dreams of having built the Air Temple(from Avatar: the Last Airbender).

No but I have dreamt about the forums before. I don't remember what, now.

I've had dreams where I'm flying and also where everything clickable. Kinda wacky!

I dreamed I was made of prims, once. But they were special prims that were like a heavy slightly flexible jelly... not like flexiprims, just wobbly when I touched them.

After one particularly stressful day trying to build a dress in SL, I had a "SL realistic" dream.

I was actually building the dress's skirt again, only this time there was no hiccups, settings stayed the way I put them and the textures gave me no trouble while applying.














For the record: Yes, this was an actual dream I had. Never again will I take a benadryl for a migraine before going to bed. I wake up disappointed.

I have SL dreams usually if I log off and then go right to bed. As I am falling asleep I have conversations with people, but I see what I am saying to them being typed out on a little IM window in my head. It's freaky and sometimes it wakes me up I and think.... whoah.

I have those dreams too.

I've had sort of semi SL dreams like I'm at a club a bit like an SL club (but a lot of RL clubs are like that anyway).

I've dreamt about SL a few times. Lucid dreaming I understand to mean the sort of dream where you become conscious whilst still asleep and are able to start directing the course of the dream. I've had that happen a time or two but not in relation to SL. Now that would be cool.

I have a LOT of editing dreams since starting SL....lots of lining up prims and checking the numbers.

I've had one SL related dream, and it disturbed me greatly. It was a sign I needed to step away, so I stayed off for about a month.

Yes, indeed a Lucid dream is a dream in which you are aware you are dreaming. It does not necessarily have anything to do with flying at all. Flying dreams are pretty common too.....and there's many theories as to why we have them. I've had flying dreams since I was a kid.....love em! I also lucid dream probably about 70% of the time. I've never ever dreampt anything about SL or with SL like content......my dreams are entirely unrelated to my SL experiences. But lucid dreams and flying dreams are two different things. The really fun thing tho, is when you're lucid dreaming, and you decide to fly....that's cool!!! I love flying dreams and if I'm lucid, more often than not I will try and fly......interestingly, it doesn't always work when I want it to.

At one point in SL, I had some land, Japanese Tea house, tons of flowers, fun stuff, animals...

I had a free roaming chicken in SL. Last year one morning, my husband tried to wake me up..I realized I said it, after I said it kinda thing.

I said loudly, "WE HAVE TO GET THE CHICKEN OUT OF THE YARD" lol.

I live near Philadelphia, no chickens in our yard, lol.

Flying in dreams has many interpretations. We can't fly in RL, but, we can in SL (among other things not possible in RL). Confidence in controlling the flight, freedom and joy, ya can't beat it.

This sounds very similar to how my dreams occur.. I'll be aware that I'm dreaming, so I'll want to fly.. and once I do, I'm grateful for the ability. Last week in a dream I remember even praying and saying thanks for letting me fly in my dream.LOL.

So how is it for you? In my dreams, it seems to have always been the same methods. I sort of push down with my hands and lift off the ground. Usually I can only go 50-100 feet up, sometimes only about 10 feet over everyone's heads. And it not usually constant, I have to push down again and kind of flap once to get lift again.

I never dreamed about SL.

When I was playing Battlefield 2 for hours & hours each day, I started having dreams about playing it.

Yes - I've dreamed about SL (or was it a nightmare?). I've always known in my dreams that it was SL though - at least, so far I have!

I certainly dreamt I was flying long before SL, or anything like it came on the scene.

I fell off my building platform and was so shocked I just fell and didn't hit fly.
In RL I hate heights.I get dreams about falling in SL and it scares the shit out of me.
I always use railings on my platform now to stop me from falling and have a fear of heights in SL though not so bad.Stupid or what?

It's not funny, yet it has to make you laugh. I have a disorder in SL too, I hate to be inside, I had a house in SL, I was never ever in it. I feel trapped, lol. The "King Tut" exhibit by "Rezzable" for example. I went to check it out late one night. There's a long tunnel downward to get in the Pyramid!! LMAO, I couldn't do it alone.

God fobid if I saw a green dot suddenly on my mini map at the same time, LOLOL.

In RL, I hate deep dark water. In SL, if I find myself alone taking pictures, where there is deep dark water I make sure I don't fall in. When I do, ahhhhhhh!!

In RL, I don't appreciate deep dark water, but thankfully I have no problem staying in the house.
