SCAM WARNING ! ! ! If it's too good to be true . . .it is.

And before any of you say, God Papadave, you're an idiot, I already know.

I found a guy last night who will NOT remain nameless (Castiglione Paulino) that was selling L's for 1000 on the US dollar.

The transaction was made via PayPal so I assumed it may be as safe as possible. I sent him $62.00 US in exchange for L$62,000.

Needless to say, well, he DID give me L$62 but that wasn't what was agreed on and as soon as he gave me those L's he was gone.

Filed a PayPal dispute, called PayPal and them immediately escalate it. So at least he won't be able to do anything with the funds (HAHAHA)! I should have my money back in 10 days butit's just the point. Why can't people just be fucking honest?

OH well, love and learn, get fucked

I am mostly posting this to warn others of the same scam.

I really hope your account doesn't get suspended and you lose 150% of what you bought.

Paypal doesn't guarantee it is safe. Only buy from LL, SLEX, or one of the EURO exchange sites. Anything else could be stolen $L's.

I used to sell lindens, until I got burned by folks making claims to paypal after I delivered the Lindens

So how did this discussion begin? Did you just meet him one day in SL and he offered you the transaction? What was his line? How did he hook you? Does he have a legitimate looking website? I hope you get your money back.

He's a bit of an idiot himself. Don't Paypal insist that the seller must prove delivery? Or is that only on ebay they have that rule?

If you buy Lindens on eBay or any other auction site the odds are very high they were purchased with a stolen credit card.

I'm sorry, but I have no sympathy, and even a little bit of loathing for anyone who falls for a "too good to be true" deal with a scam artist. You're the ones providing a market for the thiefs who steal from others and give the financial incentive for exploiting people.
