I just installed Snowglobe 1.2.1 (2976) and launched and it produced the following error message: From: someone The following Media Plugin has failed: media_plugin_webkit Please re-install th eplugin or contact the vendor if you continue to experience problems. What is up with that? After clearing the error message the login proceeded normally.

It's failing for a lot of people. Ignore it, it will be fixed eventually.

Thanks for the answers.
After starting it up and running it a few minutes it crashed with a "You have been logged out" message.
Now when I try to run it it does something I've rarely if ever seen before. It just says "Loading Snowglobe" for a few seconds, then that vanishes, and that's it.
I'm deleting the cache and settings file now.
=====
Well, deleting the settings file seemed to make it take a bit longer to vanish.

I downloaded and test flew it this afternoon. But I don't know what this one's doing for me. All I've read is something about faster maps. Do you really think I'd trade for that over bouncing bewbs?

An uninstall, delete cache, delete settings, reinstall seems to be making it work again so far.
I haven't seen much bobbling using the Emerald viewer, but I do get some graphic distortions using the Emerald viewer, and I think I had the breast physics enabled, and the unwanted giant spike was coming from a female avatar's chest area. She was far away so I didn't make the connection but I was told it might be a bug in the Emerald boob-bouncing code.
For me the Snowglobe viewer, an older version which I think was an early version, not the latest stable one, and not the latest one I just installed today, is much faster at displaying textures than any other viewer.
Now I don't remember what version I had before installing this latest test build. Oh well. Maybe it will work now.

I have about given up on snowglobe. It has eroded to the point of being useless. The permissions issues and other borks around media just sealed it for me.
LL didn't even bother to fix the last jirs defect rolled into the production viewer.

From: Joshooah Lovenkraft Oh what are the permissions issues? the video errors encountered include "Forbidden - You don't have permission to access this" or some such message. It isn't coming from the web site hosting the vid which I operate. Vids play in QT and other clients. I'm just tired of "mob programming" where all the same old defects from out of sync build code get mashed in. Like that snapshot issue with only the bottom left portion being captured that has been fixed several times. Sorry but there is a reason for dictatorial source code control and software engineering and code discipline and repeating defects always prove it.

I've been using Snowglobe exclusively for quite a while now because it is the only viewer I can find that does not have this defect. I haven't installed the latest Emerald to see if it's fixed in there, but I would adopt nearly any viewer that would correct this defect for good.
