mod or no mod?
10-27-2009 19:38
I would suggest talking to the merchant FIRST! Is it a mod menu? Are you knowledgable about modding? Partially mod? Could be a permissions glitch by the creator, that happens frequently. Could be the creator changed permissions with all the theft going on and simply missed the description on one of hundreds of items he/she sells? Describe your issue to the merchant, not the forums please. If I were that merchant, seeing your posting on this forum, I would be very angry if you had not notified me first.

I'm not getting, from the OP, how you know it is stolen. ![]() Its quite obvious I think...Argrace dont resell their items..through third parties...and if they did would they be 5L? All Argraces hats & hair- have resize scripts in them, this does not (it has no scripting whatsoever)...my partner, who is a lot smarter than me about scripts...noticed the permissions glitch, that the item says full perms (it says mod on xstreet btw) when infact it has no mod perms at all (a common thing to see whan something has been ripped off, according to the many people who took a look at it- it IS full perms in the respect I could pass it around (and all the perms boxes are ticked btw so it appears as full perm) but not in the sense to mod it-apparently another give away of a copy botted item. I did a little search before asking for advice about where to report this...and have found nowhere that argrace sells their hats either complete or in *parts* for others to use... _____________________

I havent named names..iam simply asking where or who to report this too in the first instance. The seller sells a handfull of not very nice reseller dresses and this one argrace hat..its not a permissions glitch..i had it looked at by someone with alot more savvy than me about this type of thing. Not sure how the merchant would know Im talking about their item here...no names have been named, if you look on xstreet there are a million and one types of beanie hats. (although initially for about 5 minutes i DID post the link and removed it upon reflection) And yes...Im very good at modding items ![]() _____________________

I havent named names... Oh, reallly? Then explain this name you have named: ...the hat is made by Argrace... If I was Argrace I'd want to be the first notified, and as somebody else posted above, I would be rather cross if you came here first. Since we the public can't do anything in this situation but Argrace can, why did you bring it here? |

AR it.
You can send a note card to the owner but you might get written up by them as well; someone posted a thread here, a while back, about that having happened to them. |

Since we the public can't do anything in this situation but Argrace can, why did you bring it here? Because I wanted to ask what was the best course of action? I seem to recall a little while ago...someone else posted about a stolen item that they had resported to the designer and had become embroiled in a bit of a fiasco because of it..i looked for that post but couldnt find it . Why is it so wrong to ask for direction before acting..I WANT to do the right thing..and I asked for help...im feeling like *i* have comitted some sort of crime when infact i havent? wow forget it...ill just leave the stolen content out there next time...and not ask a thing. _____________________

I really wish I hadnt asked now though..some sort of backlash for trying to do the right thing and not getting myself involved in trouble... ~sigh~ _____________________

wow forget it...ill just leave the stolen content out there next time...and not ask a thing. Pish tosh, don't let others dissuade you. Do what you feel is right. I'm sure every content creator who has read this, appreciates your consideration in this matter. It does sometimes seem painfully true, though, that "no good deed goes unpunished." |

Maybe this is the thread you were thinking about:
The best you can do, is to send Argrace a link to the XStreet page and let them handle it. Maybe just IM one of the Argrace designers the link. |

Maybe this is the thread you were thinking about: Yes that's the one. Thanks. The best you can do, is to send Argrace a link to the XStreet page and let them handle it. Maybe just IM one of the Argrace designers the link. That could work; I'd also AR it yourself in case everyone who bought the thing is ARed later. You can just send the link, without mentioning you've bought it. No need to, since you did so in all innocence. And you are trying to do the right thing in reporting it as soon as you *did* know. |
