I've never noticed a problem, so I tried it and my cylinders still taper perfectly normally. I have noticed (in all clients) that flexi cylinders don't always show the changes made to them until you select a different prim. Were you working with flexies?

I use emerald and build. I haven't had that problem, though I do notice sometimes things act up. Try logging out and relogging to see if it fixes it.

I haven't noticed that one, but I have noticed other problems with prims.
I rezzed a 20x20x1 megaprim, and changed its type from box to sphere...I wanted a flat lozenge to use as an artificial island. What I got looked like a series of sand dunes. Some setting (one of the distortions, I don't recall which) near the bottom of the window was at .79 instead of 0. Putting it back to 0 only solved the problem for an instant, then it changed back again.
I wound up making it a sculpty instead of a sphere...and then it looked and worked like it should have, if it WAS an ordinary flattened sphere.

Well at first yes, then I created another one and did not do flexi and .. still no taper... I mean the numbers look like they are working but nothing happens.. Also, I log and relog same thing showing no taper.. All is fine of course in the normal viewer... also when I rezz a sphere and say change it to cylinder it is invisable inside.. it rather odd.

Any prim is invisible from the inside. The textures are one-sided.
Or did you mean something else?

Going from a torus to a sphere leaves the sphere twisted in a way that seems to impossible to undo, without making it a box or cylinder first.

I've noticed a few wierd things like this lately, and specifically the one about prims not showing updated changes until you click on another seperate, non-linked prim and back again. It's really bad with flexi's but others do it too.

There are 2 taper sliders/numbers on the object tab for some reason. The top one, under Twist works, the other, below Slice, doesn't work. I use the wrong one at least 50% of the time.

I always find megaprims are skewed to 0.79 and have revolutions set to 3.84 if I rezz them in emerald. Never had any problems setting them back to 0 though.

Im not sure if it is twisted or just transparent... but yes.. it all starts with the sphere if you go from that to cyninder to tube then back to sphere without altering it in anyway. there is a transf=parent hole in the center as a result of twisting or whatever.... its just odd. ---------------- and you know what I never noticed both those darn tapers.. you are right the top one works........ "sigh" ok.. now at least that is solved. thanks!

I haven't really desided yet on Emerald's building tools. The so called extra digits are more an annoyance than a help after typing for xample '100. As location and hit enter, often the result will be weird like 100.00026 or so. Same with size and rotations.
They can go back to 3 digits if it is this inaccurate.

They can go back to 3 digits if it is this inaccurate. My biggest problem with the extra digits is that even though you can type in more than 3 decimal digits, it rounds back to 3. However, when you move things with the arrows, it goes back to using 4 digits, which you then have to manually change back to 3 in order to properly align new items up. There are times when building when I really think about going back to Snowglobe.

Since Tarina already got the answer to her question, I will hijack this thread and ask why, when using Emerald, if I Mute someone, a minute or so later I get this: " Name) was sent an instant message and has been automatically unmuted." I tried twice with this result. Switched to a standard viewer and was able to mute the loser. Came back to Emerald and the name remained on my mute list. I went through all the tabs and could not find a way to change this... what good is the Mute button if you can't use it? Can anyone shed some light on this?

Sounds to like an issue with the OTR features.
Im guessing here right now so bear with me. But as far as i see you might have an open IM Window from the person you just muted? If yes, the OTR feature might be kicking in and start a session where both partys hav an encryption running. If you now mute someone your client send a message to the other party that the encryption is disabled now (Happens every time someone closen an IM window, or loggs off, crashes ect)
Now if the message is send after the Mute takes place .. we have a pretty nice bug.
In that case i would try (If the IM window or message is still open) to use the drop down field at the top of the IM window to set the OTR to OFF. ( No Encrpytion) wait for 5 seconds and THEN mute the other party.
As i said .. its only guessing. But from the first glance that might be what happened here.

I will hazard my guess that you have the Emerald option on to send someone an IM message to let them know when they are muted? If that's what's causing the problem that option should be disabled until they fix this LOLz

I haven't used the feature as only ever muted two people in three years, but of course, if you message someone it will take it off, doesn't seem such a good extra feature at all lol.

To ask the idiotic question where can I find emerald and does it run on lower powered machines?
I am still running with a failing graphics board on my main good machine but I do have and older machine and I would like to have a backup solution when this graphics board dies to tie me over until a new one arrives.

Here is the site: http://modularsystems.sl/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3&Itemid=8They do have two download versions, one for not so powerful machines. Edit: Why does this site now put in non working url bbcode? I didn't enter it.

If yes, the OTR feature might be kicking in and start a session where both partys hav an encryption running. I don't use OTR in my IM's, but the person in question was in a group chat, so I suppose this might be a possibility as I think I did keep the group chat open. From: Day Oh Probably because you're constantly sending people IM's to try to detect CryoLife Try turning off client detection WTH is CryoLife, and why on earth would I waste my time IM-ing random people trying to detect it? However, I think client detection might be on from when I first started using E, so will check that. From: Smith Peel I will hazard my guess that you have the Emerald option on to send someone an IM message to let them know when they are muted? If that's what's causing the problem that option should be disabled until they fix this LOLz This seems to be the MOST likely solution. As I said before, I surfed thru all the options and was not able to find that... please, Smith, where is it exactly?
