Does anyone know where I can find a comprehensive list of music streams that are available for use in Secondlife?

Does anyone know where I can find a comprehensive list of music streams that are available for use in Secondlife? wikiTiPi has a community maintained list of music streams. Wear the HUD, open the drop down screen and click on MEMORY > GOTO > SOUNDS, choose a stream from the list and touch "connect" to load the URL. Or you can log on to the website and beam a stream to your parcel from outworld. http://www.wikitipi.com |

Or you try www.shoutcast.com. Is zillions of radio stations you can find there.

Yup, shoutcast is one of the best because you can hover over the player, copy the url and paste it into land media. Problem with 'lists' is many streams change URL.

I cannot control the stream on the land that I rent. The land is not parceled into individual lots for each tenant; it is all one large area, with cottages scattered around. Is there any way I can play music locally in my house that is not the same as the stream? I've seen some radio type products for sale but don't know how they work. Do they need to be able to access the stream? Is it the same if I wanted to give a live reading program? Would I need to have the estate manager carve out a plot around my house and land, so that I could use a different stream than the one she is using for the rest of the sim (I do not think she will want to do this, though), so that people could hear me?

*raises hand* Estate Manager
![]() If you do not own the land, or have roles to change the parcel media stream, then there is no way to listen to an internet stream in sl where your land is. And yes, all those radios and stuff you have seen need access to the parcel media stream. Sorry :/ |

You can always stream the station you like to your comp outside of SL, then log in and your chosen music stays with you wherever you go!
