UID? What is that?

OK- so am trying to use a script that requires i have my UID so it can send me info- i searched the fora but apparently UID is not a long enough word so it cannot search it.

I do not know what it means or how to find mine...Help?\\(Don't you guys wish I had not stayed home today?)

It's "UUID", and I think it means Unique User ID. Every avatar has one.

There's a free gadget on SL Exchange that will give you your UUID if you touch it.

if you just need to know your own UUID, copy this and put it into a script and put the script in a box you make:

default { state_entry() { llOwnerSay((string)llGetOwner()); } }

It'll tell you your ID that you can then copy and paste.

One can also Search / All for the resident and look to the bottom of the page for the part of the URL following "...resident/". For example, fe3f1ca0-d683-49d8-9993-3d9104e06c5e is Amaranthim's UUID. (There's nothing remotely secret about it, obviously: it's out there for everybody to see.)
