hoping someone can help...i installed windows service pack 3 and it borked my driver settings (nvidia) so i took it to my loxal pc place who said that sometimes when you install a service pack it can rubbish your drivers, they sorted it out for me ..and i can now see things , before it was running on 4bit colour and wouldnt detect the graphics. Howeverrr...im still getting the message from SL as the viewer opens *this needs 32 tru bit colour to run, set it to this or run in full size and the viewer will detect and run it for you*.
Im runing in windows mode...so hmm how can i change the viewer settings if i cant opne the viewer? Ive checked my display settings and they are in 32 bit...
any ideas anyone? thanks Fai x

Have you tried reinstalling your drivers? Maybe there is a new driver out that is compatible with Service Pack 3 (which I personally won't touch with a ten-foot pole until... oh, in about a year maybe when it's stable *gg*).

Exactly what steps are you taking to determine that you're running 32 bit TruColor (or TruColour).

From: Kidd Krasner Exactly what steps are you taking to determine that you're running 32 bit TruColor (or TruColour). welllll when it all went pear shaped at lunchtime...when i checked my display settings on the control panel it would only let me see the 4 bit option ~gulp~ everything looked really weird, then i checked my graphics card out by clicking on it and using diagnostics. (its always run on 32bit tru colour and sl is fine on it UNTIL today) Sooooo when the store reinstalled the drivers (they said the service pack had deleted them, apparently this can happen) then i could have an option on the display setting, 4, 16 & 32..i chose 32..and voila! everything came back to normal...EXCEPT SL which is still telling me i have to run 32bit trucolour to run sl....then it exits itself. Ive reinstalled sl, and tried a few older releases...but no joy...is there another way i can determine it?

Are you saying that you clicked start, then clicked Control Panel, then clicked Display, then clicked the Setting tab, and on that tab, it said 32 in the colors drop down?
