Just wondering if any Second Lifer's have Voki's.

Voki's are talking animated faces. One can get a beginner's Voki for free at http://voki.com.

I have one at my blogger blog down below the yelp widget and above the 3B widget.

Kinda cool. Reminds me though too much of the damn talking Adobe Flash heads that you see on some sites that drive me nuts. ;-)

It just occurred to me that ten years ago, no one would have the faintest idea what you are talking about. Well, maybe the second sentence they would. We live in a very strange world.

Would this 'Voki' thing allow my alt to look terrified as she runs for cover as a 200m high building behind her crashes to the ground (we hope not on top of her.. - it's a photo shoot I've devised. All I need is facial expressions..:mad::))

I'll check out Voki!!

I was thinking that one could take pictures of their voki and put them into the "make a skin from your picture" service and thus have a Voki that matches your avatar by making your avatar match your Voki.

I checked it out, was rather cute

I thought it would be kinda neat in a store as a welcome to my store kinda thing, in the new media webpage on a prim thing they have...

might look into it a bit more

Don't be getting the idea that this is something we can have in SL right now, although it should be possible to put things like Voki's and many other neat web based things on prims at some point. I hope my post didn't get misunderstood.

At present with the Release Candidate we can have one html url per parcel, and it is static: the page loads and it stops changing. You can't interact with it directly . Animated GIF files will move but videos won't play and java and such don't work.

The in-world browser in the latest RC is more usable, since you can set it to open links in chat, but it still doesn't play videos or do java or other fancy stuff.

This will change, presumably, in time.
