Hello, I've been around in SL for a few months now and I see that since in Real Life I love taking Photos that I'd like to do the same in Second Life. I was wondering if any of you have some tips for me in the game that I could use or what I need to buy to become successful at this. Thanks

theres a photo competition on Koinup worth a go at for starters
the shortcut i use to save my head getting in the way Ctrl + Shift + S
might help and saves BMP to hard drive but are large kb so i convert em to jpeg
costs $10 to upload them back to the game but as for taking them its built in - but you could always start a small gallery off - theres a few about
i've got about 2000 in the last month or so as there is some fantastic places to get shots

do not need to buy anything there is a built in snapshot option in SL either use the button, or as mention the keyboard shortcut
you have options as to the size and such of the shot, in the snapshot window, play around with it till you get what you like
learn to manipulate the camera using ctrl, or alt with the mouse, or ctrl and alt (pressed at the same time) with the mouse... that will give you the ability to zoom in and get different angles
as for successful that depends on what you wish to do with the photos once you take them do you wish to sell them? or just for your own enjoyment?
If you wish to sell your work, then do some research on what other photographers offer in SL

do some research for wedding photographers that will give you an idea what is out there (prolly the most common)
or search for profile photographers (I have seen ads of people who take pics then do some stuff to them in photoshop, for ppl to use in their profiles
good luck with your endeavors
