I know we can mute annoying sounds because I managed to mute the abandoned helicopter that made a racket day and night at the abandoned mall behind my house, I used the sound beacon to find the source but it took a lot of tries to get the actual little piece that emits the sound. (Don't tell me to simply restrict spatialized sound on the property, there are several parcels together and we would like to hear the waterfall, clock, loons etc on all of them). OK, another neighbor has a police car that broadcasts calls day and night and I used the sound beacon to try and mute it for my own client (this is another universal mute I'd like to see set by parcel owners on their own properties.) The question... I have clicked all over that sucker and it's in my mute file many times but the racket keeps coming from it, how does one zero in on the exact piece and mute it?

Well, maybe this will help. Playing that continuous sound has to involve a script. Turn on highlight scripted objects (same thing, it's a beacon). Hopefully there aren't a lot of scripts in the thing ... the scripted prim should glow red. If instead the entire car glows red ... hmm sorry that was my best shot!

I remember Torley mentioning you have to right-click the exact prim that's playing the sound. He referred to it as a bug, it seems like one to me, it may be fixed already, but I dunno. I would try sound beacons instead of script beacons, as llLoopSound doesn't require a script.

There was a red box and like the yellow one clicking it just asked if I wanted to un-mute parts already muted : igh:: Thanks for trying

Hi Shez, I have the same problem, except my torturer is a windchime.
I found that muting the object did not mute the sound, but muting the owner did.
