This might be a dumb question, but I have no clue what I did, I messed with some graphic settings on preferences and now most of the textures in game are just white, or flashing like crazy, and no matter what I do on preferences now, I cant get them to show up. For example, I have some elf ears on, which i've asked other ppl what color they are, and they are skin tone to them, to me, they're white. Actually, this has been going on for a couple weeks, and it's driving me nuts, can anyone tell me how to fix it?

I hate to ask the obvious, but have you cleared cache? Maybe all those textures got cached as white while you were messed up ...

There was a problem a while ago that seemed to only affect people with an nVidia 5xxx card:

Colour overlay for textures not working: /142/54/179605/1.html - Post #12 has the step-by-step

That one is my original thread with a work-around that fixed it for me (post back or bug me in-world if it's unclear for some reason since it could be a bit out of date if nVidia moved their settings around since then :)).

You can look at post #15 in that thread as well, which links to a quote from another thread where someone used a proggie to fix it for them, so that could be worth a try as well.

Hope that helped, good luck :).

Your graphics card may have went on vacation. Might want to check to see if the issue is exclusive to SL. Just trying to help, hope you get it fixed!

Is everything lighter? Did you check your gamma setting? If I change mine it tends to lighten everything.

Did you turn off Shiny?

some Shiny objects are really 'white' so when you disable Shiny you see them as plain boring white.

Good one!

Altohugh that wouldn't make textures flashy as mentioned in the OP. Also only applies to prims AFAIK.
