From: someone Slurls don't work for Firefox. With SLurls, they don't have to work, just look at the address on it and put the sim and co-ordinates into your map.

From: Wulfric Chevalier Might help if you searched for Burning Life - Burning Man is the RL event it's based on. And I have no problems with SLURLs in Firefox. Maybe you're just jinxed today, Kornscope? Rocco is a sim.. you don't search for it under Search, you'll need to use the Map to look up individual sims. Cuts down on redundancy, I guess.

Just another symptom of the myriad problems that plague this increasingly-twitchy platform. You can't find what you're looking for because "Search" uses some twisted hippie logic to sort its results, you can't tp to the place you *think* a thing might be because the database is wobbling under heavy concurrent load, you can't rez an item you built because the asset server has somehow either eaten or barfed-up your data, and you can't believe your own eyes because all the money you just spent paying for an object you can't rez is sure as hell gone from your $L balance.
Oh. But you can *talk*. Instead of using a third-party application like skype, you can now enjoy the babbling beauty of *Voice* in SL...unless, of course, THAT happens to be having problems, as well.
And I know...I KNOW...you...just...can't...wait...until...the...NEXT...*wonderful*...new... feature.
I've had it, as well. I can understand why a great many who come to check out SL scratch their heads after a while and walk away muttering..."This game SUCKS".

SLURLS work perfectly fine in Firefox for me. Also, the sim's name is not "Rocco," it's "Burning Life (Rocco)." Comes up on the map easily if you use that. Others have noted that in SL, it's called Burning Life, not Burning Man.

For ages I didn't think SLURLS worked in Firefox either, I then realized the information is loaded into the map ready for you to click 'Teleport'

You haven't missed much. Hmmm... it takes a while to wander: there are over 20 BurningLife sims. Maybe I'm just easily amused, but I found what I thought were some pretty imaginative builds. Haven't made it to any of the events yet, though.

Well I only got to go for about 30 minutes last night but I was thoroughly impressed with many of the displays. It was highly entertaining and I will be going back tonight ;D

I agree though that Search definitely uses "twisted hippie logic." Sometimes I honestly wonder why I get the results that I do.

Sorry for swearing, it was late. Thanks peeps, yes I should have noted : I use LINUX, slurls don't work. I had burning man in mind, not burning life. (get it right!) I'm not American. I searched the main map for Rocco, came up not found. (It said 'Rocco' on the blog.) And that link, to the calendar, it is broken too.
Sorry, but the "Great Depression of 2007" in Secondlife is spreading to my brain making me the Twisted Hippo.
