Land flicker issue as seen from skybox

Ever since the latest standard viewer release (and also with Snowglobe) I get a disorienting flicker or strobe effect of the land below when I am in my skybox / gallery 800 meters up. I tried increasing and decreasing my draw distance with no effect.

When it doesn't flicker, often the land just disappears in rectangular chunks.

Does anyone else experience this and is there a solution? It's mildly annoying.

me three... see it on Emerald and the RC... and no amount of changing draw distance or settings seems to help.

Anyone have ideas?

Actually, I think we'll have a better chance of winning the lottery than figuring out the information from the Lindens.

Curious about the Emerald Viewer and all the features?

This will sound lame, but I change the water settings from Default to Glassy and it goes away for me.

*edited* Even high up looking out.

That flicker is my number one hatred in SL at present.

Actually....that's kinda it. :) Most of the rest is minor annoyances that are tolerable.

Ditto and it seems to not matter whether my platform is at 800m or 1200m or anywhere in between -- I gave up going higher at that point -- and with all draw distances and all variations of Graphic settings and with Emerald, Snowglobe and the official current LL version.

Oh -- and I **think** it has been happening for me since 1.22 of the viewer.

It's happening for me too with Snowglobe and Meerkat. My skybox store is at about 600m. Like a strobing effect at the edges of the sims.
