hmmmmmmmmmm my family tells me from sims all over the grid, that voice is down? I know they were going to reset chat server but postponed it. It's back now

[Aug 5th, 9:18PDT] There will be emergency voice maintenance at 3am PDT. We are currently experiencing possible issues with voice at the moment. Please check with the blog for updates. Yes it is down

I got turned off on voice as a n00b. There was this person who insisted on voicing to me, and she was not only a heavy smoker, but it was taking a toll on her lungs, so I got treated to the sound of her lungs being horked up all the time.
There was also this DJ who was on mic and you could hear her kids screaming in the background, dogs barking, and an annoying cockatiel screeching right next to the mic.

Another reason why I prefer roleplay and just immersion into SL/suspension of disbelief like a stage play.
