Well it bloody did for me.I logged in as usual today did my chores took some pics and stuff and decided to take a stroll round my place.
About a month ago I built a large house on the top of a big hill at the edge of my plot.I walked up the steps and notice that the land has shifted by about 1 meter or so and totally changed shape. my build looks crap and the earth is now showing through stairs etc.
I cleared cache and no change.
Should I terraform again which is a right pain or wait to see if it sorts itself out?

Well a few minutes ago I was walking through mountains, then walking in place...the usual when things are going bonkers. Now, it's fine: maybe a wee glitch?

Not sure it could be at all related to terraforming, but yeah: something is getting progressively more borked the past few days, at least for sim crossings. I've been tinkering with a new vehicle script and noticed it was having much more than the usual trouble making it intact across borders... then tried it on foot and discovered the same problems, much worse than usual, on every border I tried, and not related to sim nor total grid load, as far as I can tell.

That's interesting,I just looked at my map and sure enough it is exactly at a sim edge. I might wait a day or two before I wade in.

you know, i was at my skyhouse the otherday, and when i initially set it up it was centered on my chunk of land, two days ago i had minimap up and noticed everything shifted a bit off the edge of the sim. its a standalone so it isnt on anyones property and i didnt bother to fix it. but what i did notice is it was only my skyhouse and all its contents which is 600m up and nothing on the ground. and there was some serious lag and loading issues i noticed also for a few days. weird

When raising a small chunk of land in the corner of a region I've seen land on the other side of the region deform a little

and we know the terrain involves some kind of compression and that it doesn't necessarily send you the entire terrain until it thinks you can see it

so I would guess it's possible for the appearance of the land to change depending on how much of the rest of the land you've downloaded yet

But this is an uneducated guess, I don't actually want to try to understand the terrain compression :O

Oh, the earth moved for me too, as my sim was griefed by the SL Police, isn't that something, police brutality to the nth degree. SL Police indeed..........oh, that also wasn't what this thread was about, right........sorry........was up half the night with this mess and still half asleep.....
