Help With Streaming Television that No Longer Works

I have this Free View Flatscreen television. I've brought it with me through several different land parcels I've owned in Second Life, and it has always worked just fine.

I just bought a new parcel and set up a house on it. My Free View television will no longer work.

It sets the media URL just fine when I check "About Land." The television texture and the media texture match. I have the movie button on play mode. It's just not doing the thing where it replaces the texture with the URL content. It doesn't seem to be a "just my computer" problem- other people on my land have seen (or failed to see) the exact same thing as I.

I had noticed in the past that when I used the television, the movie of the URL playing would actually show up in the media screen in the About Land Media tab. That doesn't happen.

Any ideas on what's wrong?

Hi Amity,

Make sure you have the tv deeded to the group that you have your new land set to. Also, you can try doing a reset scripts on the tv.

If that doesn't work, perhaps there is a media permissions issue with your new land. Might have to talk to the land owner to make sure media rights are given to you.

I feel foolish.

The other thing I've done, besides moving land, is installed a new OS on my computer. I hadn't installed QuickTime yet.

I guess I didn't think of it because I never got that Second Life error "you cannot play media because Quicktime not installed." (I get that error on my other computer, even though QuickTime is installed on it.)

How that explains others' not seeing the video, I don't know. But I installed QuickTime, and it works fine now for me.
