Hi all,

A friend asked me to be a roommate with them. My question is regarding “setting home to here” It is estate land and set to the estate owner’s group. My friend is renting directly from the owner. If my friend creates a group for us two then does that mean they can set the land to our new group (and thus I should now be able to “set home to here” or does it have to stay as the owner’s group.

If it has to stay as the owner’s group then all I need to do is join their group and I should be able to “set home to here”?

Looking for all input.

Thanks.

Yes. You have adequately answered both questions.

You'll probably have to join the Estate owner's group, which you may have to request an invite depending on how it is set up.

You will most likely have to join the owners group. Group members can be given different rights and priviledges - setting "home" on group owned land being one of them.

"Set home to here" only works for a group the land is DEEDED to. Just setting the land to a group does not activate any group role permissions that would otherwise be for things allowed only to the parcel owner. If the land is currently deeded to the landlord's lamd management group, he would ned to allow you to join the group in a role that allows setting home there. If your friend can deed the land to their own group, then you can join their group.

Easiest work-around is simply set your client to log you back in where you last logged out, and make a landmark for your friend's rented place. TP to that LM to go home, and log out from there.

That is not correct. I currently own (rent) estate land. I set up a group and did NOT
deed the land to the group and group members can set home to here.

Looking for a way to set the client. If i logout from my new home and go back in I will still end up at my old "home".

Can you help with a procedure? Usually I can figure a way around things but this has me stumped for some reason. Looking at all the choices up top and getting a little confused.

I guess I am just not looking in the right place.

on the start up page at the bottom left hand corner there is a pop down that allows you to choose to either log in to your 1. Home; 2. Last Place Visited; 3. Co-ordinates of a specific SIM. Do your changes there and log in

Of course Last Place Visited has to be different to your 'present' Home.
