Theres one thing I have been curious about for a long time and since SL is doing its usual weekly nut thought I'd ask the question. It took me a while to figure out how to make a decent picture (slow I know but didnt realise you could pan in and out after taking a snapshot......or change the size - d'oh). Now i know what to do I take quite a few pics as and when the mood takes me. Te problem I have now is I have a lot of great pictures I would love to edit but theyre saved in my inventory in SL. Is there anyway of transferring these pictures onto my HD or are they doomed to stay on there inaccessable? I know there is the option to d/l the pic or email it when you take it but seems silly if you cant take the pic off SL whenever you want after. Then again knowing SL....... Anyways help would be more than welcome and earn everyone huggles

That's why it's always a good idea to select the local option (save to HD) when taking pictures. If you have them in-world the only option I know of is to (i) display them inside the viewer, (ii) take a screen shot to the clipboard by pressing Alt-Print on a Windows PC and (iii) paste the clipboard contents to a graphics program afterwards.

you can - you just need to open the texture or picture then you go to the file menu (can't remember exactly as can't get inworld to check!!) and there is an option to save to hard drive or save texture as or something like that!
I can tell you exactly once we can log in...but I am sure someone else will know the exact menus and instructions and tell you before then!

There's, uh, probably a lot of things you didn't know about lindens. Another, another interesting, uh, lindenism, uh, there are only three jobs available to a linden. The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

From: Sara Lukas this is only possible if the picture is full perms btw.. It also works with textures, not just snapshots... so if you ever wished you could take that huge 2048x2048 texture someone gave you, and make it 128x128.. or wished you could alter a texture before using it.. if you're good with image editing programs (or even if you're not).. now you know how to download an image (provided it had full permissions of course). There was a Video Tutorial recently on doing this very thing. Edit: my mistake.. wasn't a tutorial.. but a wiki entry I came across. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Saving_Textures
