No More Police Blotter, they renamed it, it seems....


and here we are, the 22nd is not even OVER yet.

so my question is.

Why was the police blotter renamed?

Police blotter has become Incident report for the same reason that companies no longer have Personell Departments or Security Departments. The world is getting a little too PC for my taste.

Lost here, trying to see what this person is talking about. Indeed the Police Blotter is gone. But the rest I just don`t understand what the guy is talking about.

Banks were supposed to be dead after the 22, but we already HAVE the 22nd???

Could have been worse for the banking types, who DID have advance warnings....could have been Australian time...

The last version of Police Blotter was a mere shell of what it used to be. Back in 2003, SL was very much like a small town. Griefers were few, and a day with 10 events was "busy". We used to get a weekly "crime" update that was written in a style similar to the items in News of the Weird. It would start out with the "highlights", then at the end, there was a short list of lesser offenses. At the time, SL was so small, we just all knew who was being written up. If I recall correctly, sometime in 2004, regular updates became fewer, then eventually stopped. Eventually, the blotter returned, but it was the cold, "just the facts" version most of us are familiar with.

Teeny is right, when the game was less then 13,000 it was useful but now its just a joke. Too many times the reports were madeup and the lindens wasted alot of time. Too many people were wrongly targeted. Anyways good riddens to the Police Blotter it was outdated and its time had come to a end.

In my flu ridden brain somehow what you said got read as

"Indecent Management report"

If people are waiting until the last minute, with the mindset "Hey, I have until the 22nd is over rather than when it starts", then I have no sympathy whatsoever.

I see this as a big waste of time. What's the purpose of having it in the first place? So residents can see Linden is watching out? What good does it do to see someone you don't know recieved a warning or was suspended? It's all there just to be seen since it offers nothing else to the public.

I agree with this. It was just galling to newbies to report the person who first deliberately picked on them and made their SL a misery not only to see that someone swearing at the WA got banned when the jerk who made them lose money was "unscathed". Of course there would actually have been a lot more to it but it also made you think "What else is never picked up on".

If it is in UK time perhaps it is now being run from the Brighton office. "UK" time being the world standard, of course...

That sounds like it would look great FD. have you tried maybe changing the colour of the sketch a bit? Might show up better - maybe not, i dunno.

To tell you the truth, I never look at the police blotter. Never even been on the page lol. I have no clue about it whatsoever.

What did they change the name too. This is a good place to start.. (can't remember where to find the police blotter so I would have no idea where to look for the "insert new name thingy" thing.. list thing)
