Can't read the information on objects when clicking "edit"

Whenever i click edit on an object i can't read any of the information of that object like the amount of primitives, Name, Description, etc. Its all blank. However if the object belongs to me, then I am able to read everything. But not if the object belongs to someone else. I've tried to correct the problem by downloading sl and reinstalling it again. but nothing seems to help. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Is the Tools -> Only My Objects (or something like that) set? If so, disable it..

Ok found the problem!!!! You put me on the right track...i had "select only moveable objects" checked. Thanks!!!

I have found that if you click "edit" twice the information appears. A bit like with your items that have been locked

That's the method I always use with other people's objects. Even though the edit box is open after the first right click>Edit, right click the object and click Edit again. Then the data will appear.
