I take pictures in SL, and I've used to turn on Anti-aliasing when I want to focus on details.
Lately, this makes my avatars skin start to glow. Like I'm ghosted or my skin is turned full bright. Unlike the "ghosting" that can happen when I log in, I can still see my shape and clothes through the bright glow.
Setting the Anti-aliasing back to default stops this. But then my pictures has a more jagged edge. Even if I save them as High resolution.
I have the Advanced menu on, and I've turned up RenderVolumeLODFactor as high as possible. I also played a bit with other things in the settings, is it possible that some of this cause the glowing effect in Anti-aliasing?
Is there a list that explain the default settings? English isn't my #1 language and I'm not a technical expert so I mostly guess what effect they have. The Anti-aliasing and RenderVolumeLODFactor is things I've read about to improve the quality of my pictures. (Anti-aliasing makes the jagged avatar mesh smoother and RenderVolumeLODFactor makes sculpts look better, even from a distance.)
I can't find anything about the glowing skin.

I'm not entirely sure what folks use to get the best quality but I will say this much.... Anti-aliasing has never made a difference in my pics. I always save to a high res 2016 at least and I have the highest quality setting checked (where ever that is, I forget cause I never touch any of my settings for pics) Some of the edging is just never going to go away because it's a what you see is what get situation. The avatar mesh is not perfect....in fact with the last upgrade, it seems all us ladies now have to deal with having slightly more squared off boobs.....joy. But really.....there's only so much we can do to grab fine details, and then if ya have the patience, you can photoshop the really yucky stuff out (like pointy elbows or kankles) But, by the same token....I get some awesome shots as is.....and beautiful detail. Can you post an example of what you're talking about with the anti-aliasing?

I will try to take a pic with Anti-aliasing turned on tonight. I've had 6 weeks without taking pictures, and SL is harder to rez on my computer then it was in winter.
I agree that high resoluton and Ultra quality settings are more important than Anti-aliasing. It's a bit irritating that I can't use it.

I'm sorry that I didn't post a pic last night. I have one now. To the right is a picture taken with Anti-aliasing turned on. I found this info in a blog. I admire the bloggers style and her pictures: http://analutetia.com/blog/tutorial_anti-aliasing/
