I have created cross-country ski poles for both hands - right and left. How can I do that avatar will wear these poles in hands in real position.

You could use an on-attach animation script and an animation that, say, keeps the arms bent. Then wear the object and edit it to the correct position.

you need animations in them set to high priority to over-ride the default animations

Have to be scripted to run the animations on attachment

That's not too hard, though - plus you want to learn how, I just know it. :-D

The Weather Channel has a sim with a ski resort on it...and they give out freebie skis and poles.

I don't know if the content of the poles can be looked at, but it's worth a shot. Might provide a clue for you.

One note: to suppress the UI in Second Life toggle control-alt-F1.

Oops - another note: You may not realise that you can see animation information including priority by turning on Animation Information in the Advanced menu.
