It's a part of town with lots of development and I am surrounded by many buildings, shops, etc. In ONE of them is a 'lucky chair' that keeps shouting its irritating message, every few seconds. If I could find it I could mute it, but so far I haven't tracked down which building it is in. (It's text not sound, so I can't do it by flying around and listening for where it gets louder). Any good ideas anyone?

Chat History

Hey Hal, Next time it shouts at you take a look at chat history, the tab called Near me on the communications tab, click the button in the top right corner with two arrow like this < < and you will get a list of those who've participated in the chat (including objects). Find the lucky chair and tick mute. This should take care of it. You need to be rather fast to mute using this method since the name time's out rather quickly if it doesn't say anything else. I'd suggest having the chat history open and ready to click the name as soon as it shouts. An alternative is go to View / Mute list at the top of your window, click Mute Object by Name and type in the name you see in your chat history exactly as written. ~B

Hey Belissa, that's great. I wonder if it'll work on my neighbour's security orb spam.

Chas, it should work on anything that uses public chat. There are times though that you run into things that change their damn name often (usually griefer objects) and that is more difficult, if not impossible to combat in this way.
