Most of the work I do in SL involves resetting scripts.

Resetting vendors, Rental boxes, security doors, and Resetting scripts in general, it is my most time consuming task in SL.

Am I correct in believing that a sim restart, in any way, shape, or form, resets all the scripts?

The only stupid question is the one that no one asked, or asked a hundred times and can’t be found in a general search……..

I am almost sure the answer is yes, almost.

If LL announces a rolling restart or scheduled Down time– in the few days before –
I could get a lot done, without having to do a manual reset of quite a few scripts, hence working with the system, and saving time.

Yes?

No, and thank heavens for that! If a sim restart actually reset scripts, they'd lose everything they "learned" about the world every time it happened. On the other hand, there are ways for a script to be reasonably sure that a sim has restarted, so they could reset themselves under those conditions, if they had nothing to lose by doing so. And there are scripters who claim to remember their scripts getting reset by a sim restart, so perhaps it happens occasionally, but that would be, uh... something other than a feature. ;)
