I'm logged onto the Beta Test Grid and I have found that I cannot access my island. I try to teleport to it, but I get an error. When I check for it on the map, it comes up as invalid location. Is there something I need to reset in the properties of the island to allow access in Beta? The island can only be reached by members in the normal client, does that have anything to do with the problem? Any help would be much appreciated.

Most of the land is not accessable in the beta grid. If there is a specific problem on your island that can not be resolved then a linden will sometimes make it available in the beta grid for debugging purposes. Other then that, we are in beta to try to catch bugs before the next MG release or work on older bugs.

Thanks, I think I may have had different expectations for the purpose of the Beta Test Grid then what they are evidently.

Given the massive deployment of hardware necessary to operate the main grid, one can imagine how impractical it would be to duplicate the entire grid in beta.
