Release Notes for Second Life 1.13.0(0) November 7, 2006
=====================================
Bug fixes:
* Can now edit attachments even when a parcel is full
* Removed incorrect URL detection in notecards, script, etc.
* Setting dialog now refers to "URLs" instead of "Links"
* Hovering over URLs in chat (etc) now shows a hand cursor
* Fixed some bugs related to banning users from estates

Just tested and the URL detection does seem to be working correctly now.

I put 32.33 343.333 in the chat entry bar.

The chat history shows the entire phrase, including the space, as one color coded underlined link.

They don't need to color code or try to figure out what is or is not an url.

Just wait for the user to right click the text, pop up a little dialog that asks if you want to open the chunk of text your cursor is in, and pass the text at the cursor location, extending backwards and forwards until a space is reached, to the browser.

For added functionality, instead of just having it sent to a browser as an url, allow the string to be passed to a search page, like the search for google.com

This idea could be extended into other areas where text is displayed.

Does this make it difficult to hi-lite the text? Can you select just the last half of the numbers or does it want to open up a link as soon as you click on it. I'm at work so I can't do any testing for the next 8 hours. My fear is many scripters use the chat history as a means of outputting data so we can do things with it. Also if you copy the text and paste it into a notecard is the text what you copied or do it have extra code with it? This has me rather worried and hope this does not screw up 3 months of work one of my projects.

Or this needs to be an options to turn off.

Yes it does make it a little more difficult to highlight text. You have to be careful when selecting it so that you don't trigger and html event. I did check it in a source editter and didn't see any extra code thou. But even the message stating that the sim is up is highlighted :-(. You can see my comment about this in the other thread here in Beta.

But on the bright side. You can access the wiki through the web tab of your profile. Now if they would make use of something like that. An open script already recognises and color codes llFunctions. It would be pretty neat if you could double click a function and the wiki entry would open in the browser used by help!
