Blurry Text in 1.11? |

I"ve been noticing something a little strange with the 1.11 client, all text (like in menus, the chat bar, chat history, etc.) is blurry. Avatars aren't fuzzy in this way (unless purposely so), nor is the minimap, and chat text without the chat history (the kind that fades out) does not look blurry. If I bump up the UI size to 102% the blurry look seems to go away, but I'd rather not have an oversized view. Currently my UI is set to 85%. Is text being anti-aliased on resizing, leading to this fuzziness? And if so, could a subsequent sharpening be performed? ^.^;

Getting the same effect. Vertical lines of letters are sometimes weirdly interpolated/antialiased. Looks.. strange.

Try changing the frequency of your screen. I had a similar problem (vertical lines were flickering) with 1.10 and solved it by changing the frequency of my LCD from 60 to 70 Hz. Be careful to only use frequencies supported by your screen!

I guess it's not the monitor settings when you see the problem in SL but nowhere else.

I guess it's not the monitor settings when you see the problem in SL but nowhere else. That depends - if you are running it full-screen, then it could be changing the graphics mode - if you are running it in a window, then yeah, you're almost certainly correct. |

Yes it is blurry here as well. I bug reported it and a day or so later heard back that it is a known issue and they are working on it. So I suggest if you see it....bug report it.
Perhaps changing refresh rates might fix it, but when you don't need to do so on the main grid (or anywhere else) why do we need to now? In short it is a bug. I can't stand to read the text in the preview for any legth of time without getting eye strain. You can scale up the UI to almost its max then that fixes the blurry issue, but then the UI is quite unweildly. -DB |

Agreed, it's a joke in poor form. I don't much enjoy being fooled into thinking I'm more myopic than normal. >P
For clarification of the situation though, it's maximized windowed mode with a 70Hz refresh on my desktop at 1280x960. No other program, not even the other SL clients, are blurry (unless purposely so, like GW using a light blur effect to seem more real). _____________________

I see that this problem has not been fixed and has even spread to preview 1.12 since the scaleable UI has been added there as well. Is anyone else still seeing this? It makes being in the previews for any legth of time impossible without eyestrain.
