This time "available" includes the Linux folk. Enjoy it's rich beta-ry flavor while it's still warm. http://s4.amazonaws.com/preview-secondlife-comFrom: someone Release Notes for Second Life 1.16.0(4) May 21, 2007 ===================================== Bug fixes: * Fixed VWR-657: Beta -> Linux -> Startup -> Crash * Fixed object loss occuring when taking an item * Fixed render issues with tapered cubes * Fixed sculpt texture loss after when texture picker is cancelled * Fixed flexible sculpted prims becoming distorted * Fixed textures applied to sculpted prim at a 90 degree rotation I tried to find out what the release notes were for a recent version that didn't have any release notes, and Milo told me he didn't know what had been changed because the changes weren't outward facing, i.e, the changes weren't visible to the users, so there was no need for him to know about the changes, (not his department, I take it) and thus no need for release notes for the users. I think I remember hearing the same thing on a previous occaision. I haven't even clicked on the install button or read the notes I pasted above.

From: SuezanneC Baskerville This time "available" includes the Linux folk. We Linux folk are very grateful to have access restored! (Though still a bit miffed at being locked out for nearly a week.) Glad to see that flexiprims no longer cause instant crashes! Someone I just ran into on the test grid said voice chat is missing from the prefs...

confirmed voice has been removed for the normal beta client, presumably because it wasn't working for linux. voice beta is still available at the old link though if you're looking for it. http://secondlife.com/community/bhear.php

Yes - voice chat not in the current beta viewer. Everything else seemed fine. Relief

..and it looks like I missed the one-day window when Linux had a working beta client.
Sigh.

Sigh. Your post is very funny in a cruel sort of way. I feel guilty for smiling at it. Here's hoping they do better at keeping the Linux beta current.
