Beta Grid Lindens

Does anyone know if we still get the 5000L free in the test grid? Mine seem to have gone on both my avatars and I had quite a lot left.

The only purpose I can think of for L$ on Beta Grid is for testing. I often upload textures to Beta first to check them, spending the valueless Beta L$ before wasting 'real' L$ on imperfect textures.

But I've often had L$10,000 - L$ 15,000 on Beta and would be happy to give most of it away!!!!!

Just sent you $L5,000, knock yourself out and enjoy!!!!!

I normally have at least 5000-10000L in mine too but it seems to have all gone over night.
I test my clothes and textures in the beta before uploading and spending real L.

This is a question that's be bugging me too....I just logged onto the Beta Grid for the second or third time just now and my balance is showing as 547L$. I have absolutely no idea where the rest of it went...as I didn't spend anything. My question is, if I spent that 547L$....hence bringing my balance to 0L$..... would that mean that the next time I logged into the Beta Grid...I would have absolutely nothing??

I really apologise if this sounds like a really stupid question...(which it is of course) but I'm dumfounded....as usual...

Just checked. Looks like someone didn't flip a bit and instead of the $5,000 minimum, it is your MG balance that is being used. Just bug report it and someone will get around to fixing it. Not for sure thou on how long it will take to correct. Some might have to resort to panhandling, selling roses on street corners, pole dancing or prostitution until this can be resolved.

O wait, some already do all of that stuff anyways......................................................

Until then it wouldn't hurt if you posted a request for a couple of hundred lindnen here for uploading textures or something. If we don't need the lindens in Beta at the time, I am sure some would pass some over when they log in there. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Thanks Jessie.....well I thought it might have been my MG balance but I had a good bit more than that in my MG balance so that's why it's so confusing..... Anyway, I'll contact support and see what they have to say....

Anyway, I've logged in with three different alts...and it's the same story with all of them....but they have absolutely NO lindens....and then I clicked the 'purchase lindens' thingy just to see what would happen..... a pop-up came up and told me I couldn't be authenticated....

I was planning on using the beta grid to upload textures etc..... so frustrating..

I did send a support ticket....they'll probably die laughing when they read it though..

It's not supposed to. Someone just made a mistake when they took the snapshot. Happens every now and then. The Quality Control Lindens always have a pretty heavy work load to say the least.

Texture away, I took care of you. Same message from me as before thou "blah, blah, blah etc, etc, report any bugs you find". Milo regularly goes over the bug reports and you have a much better chance of them getting fixed faster there in Beta.

The day they took a snapshot of the inventory/avatar list server data, copied it over to the beta servers. That's why people born after a certain date can't log in, they registered after Snapshot Day.

i have the same problem.. however i am worse off, with about 6L$...

how long do u think these guys take after u do this 'bug report'....

i have to set up shop liek real quick and this beta grid giving up on me isnt helping!

if you spend all your L$5000, do you have to 'buy' more from LL to replace it? or is there another way to get more?

I don't understand why they put fake money in the beta grid, they could not put any money at all.

Because this reported loss of money is probably a bug somewhere in the beta code, testing it for bugs is the whole point, without the money the bug would never be detected.

I have over 500,000L on the beta grid, so if anyone needs some, let me know, I'll be happy to be your sugar momma.

Excellent, I only have around 90,000 in the beta grid and I was hoping to pick up an outfit there that costs 590,000 lindens.

I thought that Beta L$ were transient anyway, so it would be normal to find the amount changed between logins.

I prefer the system on my standalone OpenLife sim, where you get L$1000 and it stays at L$1000 whatever you spend or receive!!!!!

It doesn't. That's what he's saying. Your balance always reads L$1000, no matter what you spend or receive. Presumably it's because the SL client has to have _something_ to display as the L$ amount in the status bar.

Right, but I don't see how you would spend any if there's nothing to buy ^.^
