Flexible prims have been completely and utterly broken. They show up as giant twisted masses of flat planes that fill the screen and crash the client the INSTANT they rez, unless you get lucky where you have a few seconds to detach or delete the item. I feel this is good to address on the forums as to get the community, as well as staff to test and try to fix the problem. Almost all of my Avatars have at least one flexible prim, and this greatly hinders even existing in SL. This definately needs to be addresses before any semblance of a release...

Same for me. It might be related to hardware/drivers why they show up like that.

Just to make sure, you might try downloading the client again.

This flexi-crash bug was reported right after 1.16 was deployed, and a fixed version was made available, but the fixed version still has the same version number as the unfixed version, so it may be hard to tell if you have the unfixed version or not.

Maybe....

I released an updated version that in the help > about secondlife menu has a build time of 06:57:59 on the top line. I built that version on my own time after noticing a line of code that didnt get changed properly, although it seems to have fixed the look of the flexiprims and probably reduced the crash rate its by no means stopped them, this will have to wait until the developers can see the crash reports and look at the code on monday when the office opens.

Other actions we could have taken would have been to close the grid on friday night, but as it is a beta we've found fromt he past that people like to try something no matter what the state, if people look back at the first days of the 1.7 release changing your group title would not only crash your self but the sim and everyone in it.

It would be so nice to get a clear, unambiguous answer from a Linden staff member ... just for once.

:D

Thanks Milo! I downloaded and it helped a lot with the flexi problem.

Appreciate the effort! :)
