I remember something about voice chat not working with certain (buildin?) audio cards. I can not find the thread anymore. If this is staying as is, I would suggested disabling voice chat by default at release, as I suspect lots of people having compatible audio cards.
Anything I can do to make voice work ?

Personal experience, this may not be your issue: When I ran with voice for the first time Windows (or Norton?) popped up a firewall access dialog. While that dialog was up SL was a slideshow, and I didn't know why. After finding and closing that dialog then restarting SL worked at normal speeds.
The voice client uses a separate module for voice that some firewall programs will ask 'should this access the internet?' for in addition to and separate from SL.

Good point Kelly, but not my issue. I have firewall disabled already.. I'm sure I read somewhere that some soundcards gave problems, just cant find the report anymore.

From: Kelly Linden While that dialog was up SL was a slideshow, and I didn't know why. After finding and closing that dialog then restarting SL worked at normal speeds. It has to do with QuickTime, I think. For example: If one tries to use Macromedia Director (software that does Flash-like things intended for deployment on CDs) and layers two QuickTime videos, or attempts to have the QT movie move ontop of (or another object under it move) it causes flickering. Windows is trying to draw the Norton/Builtin Firewall window regardless of whether or not it's actually visible. Because of this QT is probably running slower than it should be.
