I was in Sandbox Newcomb on Beta grid and it began to fill up with 10m hollowed cubes that were physical. Gradually the whole sim filled with a mountain of cubes. I thought about doing an AR but thought it might be a test.

The producer of the physical cubes came to chat to me and told me he thought what he was doing was very funny. I checked his profile and he'd been in SL since July. When I checked the profile again a few minutes later his name had gone.

Hopefully he had been removed! I wonder, though, if such behaviour on Beta grid counts as AR-able, given that tests sometimes need to be done on what level of activity a sim can take.

Sounds like the guy that was chasing me around I'd tp away he'd look on the map for a new green dot to bother and come drop a bunch of physical or particle things on what ever I was doing. He said he was king of the beta grid or some such nonsense and I noticed he had been in sl since july. I filled out an AR on the guy hope they removed him. Can't do much testing with that type around.

Does the beta grid still limit the users that can enter by join-date? I know it was there for technical reasons in the past when we had a separate beta-grid, but it was good because it meant the people going were less likely to be griefing idiots.

With 9 zillion accounts unused there are plenty of names to go griefing with.

The reason the betas had a date limitation is that they snapshot the database servers and populate the beta grid with that. If you were "born" after the snapshot date, the beta system doesn't know you. It was a side effect, not an intention.

:P

It just makes sense to limit it at least a bit. Genuine new accounts aren't as likely to be interested in the upcoming version yet anyway.
