Version 1.12.4.0 is available for download at http://secondlife.com/community/preview.php .

Heh heh, they need to change the filename to beta.php instead of preview.php.

The beta grid is up at the moment, still on the Aditi gridlet.

Release notes don't seem to have been updated yet.

The sim GT HQ, which I don't recall hearing of, is in the Beta grid now. I hope they have some decent stores.

Below we see the sim MiloTest Island.

Oh me they are reporting a half meter drift in the position of the oscillating objects shown in the picture - a half meter in eight hours.

The sims Ramapo, Suffern, and Rockland are also in the Aditia grid at the moment.

The Future is in there also. That might be a nice change of pace from the usual beta grid sites.

The download on the download page at http://secondlife.com/community/preview.php worked fine for me at the time I made my post, that's how I knew the grid was up.

I just downloaded it again, it seems to be working fine. Wasn't as fast as it is sometimes, it took 2 or 3 minutes.

Prim drift has not changed because of anything in this version of beta, same old problem we have always had. We are just trying to narrow down the problem and are coming up with some useful info.

Gearsawe Stonecutter, in the thread at /310/06/139939/1.html, seems to be describing a new form of prim drift that occurs as a result of repeated calls to lsl rotation functions.

Prim drift in the form of static, script free objects that should sit immobile in one place positionally unaltered till the end of time but which are observed to have been moving without cause or rhyme or reason, are part of the Second LIfe user experience dating at least as far back and even farther back that the beginning of 2004.

I hope I'm wrong again, but my take on the what others are saying about prim drift is that there is a new problem of object centers being changed by repeated scripted rotations.

Nope, same old problem. From what I have seen, static prim drift (prims drifting after a sim restart) and dynamic prim drift (accelerating drift by "rocking" a prim linkset constantly) are one and the same problem. It is how the server is translating prim parameters into whatever form it stores them as. This "translation" only occurs either during a sim restart or by forcing it to update by constantly moving the prims. In other words, we are just forcing it's hand in using the "rocking" method.
