Black Particles spawing when they should not.

Go to Oak Grove. you will notice black particles spawing everywhere after a while. I also have an old Large Torch that I scripted spawns Large Black Particles when first rezzed. I notice this once before but did not think anything about.

It seems to be with old scripted objects from (12.0.x) that have had particles at one point in time. Once I have recomplide the scrips then took a copy back into my inventory the newly rezzed object does not spawn particle the black particles. But it is somthing to do with object the have an Empty Particle list from 12.0.x. can't quite figure it out.

This looks to be a big show stopper to me! Any old script will be spawing Large Black Default texture particles that has an empty partcle list (other words off).

I saw some black particles in, umm, Nexus Prime, that I have never seen before and which didn't make any sense to be coming out of a skyscraper and which fit your description, large default black particles.

I didn't bug report it; I figured someone had just left something around spewing black particles.

I can't get back to the place because I am having teleport failure in the preview grid. I'm stuck on preview grid Help Island. How boring.

Also they have a life span of about 120seconds I thought the max was 30 seconds. but the LSL Wiki is down.

here is what I'm talking about. LINK

The one on the right is an old rezzed script torch that was off when rezzed. In the middle is the newly compiled rezzed Torch. and on the far back left is a vechile spewing out particles everywhere. alot of the vehicles in this area are doing this. I tried to Bug Report this one the best I could but this is jsut wierd. Just as weird as llTargetOmega not working till a script is recomplide. Hmm could the two be related?

EDIT:
Okay just making a copy seems to fix it, but still does not explain being rezzed from inventory, having the problem.

I just saw the problem for myself in the Morris sandbox. A newer particle thrower worked as expected. A no mod torch labeled vSL1.10 threw off the black balls. I bug reported it and also sent Milo a copy so he can see for himself. But while I was writing the IM and the bug report the torch starting working correctly. hmmmm kinda wonder if this is sorta like seeing gray when textures have not rezzed yet except pertaining strictly to particles?????
