Sometimes the beta grid has land open for testers to buy so they can test things that pertain to land. It's been a while since that has been so, but remember, it's not really buying, but more like temporary ownership in order to test various things.

You can sometimes make arrangements with a Linden to make land available for purchase in the Beta Grid. I did that once to test for a glitch that I felt was based on land ownership permissions, and Data Linden arranged for a small parcel in Lusk to be purchasable by me, for my test. Bear in mind that any "ownership" in the Beta grid lasts only as long as that beta release, and gets wiped on the next Beta update.

Are you very sure about that guys ? There is a lot of land that i snot owned by Governor Linden, even GL lands have objects not owned by a Linden. Things look much more permanent to me.

What you need to do is *ask a Linden for help*, in the beta grid. Explain why you want/need to buy land in the Beta Grid, and they can make it happen for you.

I think that, since the beta is a snapshot of the main, to own land on the beta you must first own it in one of the snapshoted region !
But I just learned that the het-grid will replace the beta grid, so I won't bother.

Well, I temporarily bought a parcel in Lusk on the Beta grid, for specific land owner perms testing, so I know it can be done. But at any rate, you ONLY own that sort of land until they roll out the next beta release, and then it reverts ownership if you don't own the main grid equivalent space. Even then, there's a lot of stuff that belongs, say, in Lusk, that isn't represented as present on the beta grid. And when they start seriously using the "het grid" and doing betas in the main grid servers, it's debatable as to whether there will even be a beta grid thereafter.
